Alberta Torres
I was born and grew up in Venice, Italy, where I graduated in Contemporary Art and Theatre Studies, before moving to the UK in 2011.
Always been interested in illustration, I attended several short courses with masters of the art at the Scuola Internazionale di Illustrazione in Sarmede and ARS in Fabula in Macerata (Italy), Central Saint Martins School and House of Illustration in London.
In 2013 I was awarded the Battello A Vapore (PIEMME) prize for best emerging illustrator, and I was published for the first time the following year.
I create my illustrations using a mix of traditional and digital techniques, always taking inspiration from the irony of life and the magic of nature.
I have returned to illustration quite recently, after a few years working full time in design, and I am keen to build up my clients list. I look forward to working on new projects to develop my skills as a Children’s book illustrator and perhaps…author too!
