Biography
Ben achieved a degree in illustration from Falmouth College of Arts, in Cornwall. Following a graduate exhibition at the D&AD in London, he was discovered by representatives of Nickelodeon, and within the next few months Ben began working in the animation industry. His first job was at Cartoon Network, working on the hit show 'Skatoony' as an artworker/character designer.
Ben now works as a freelance illustrator and animator in both the animation and illustration industries, he loves character design, background design, animation, advertising, children's books and typography.
He works in both more traditional, gouache/plasticine styles, and also digital techniques. He has experience with programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash.
His main influences are 50's retro, architecture, typography, clothing, indie movies, and cartoons... and a lot of other stuff! Ben currently lives and works in London.
