Biography

Mike Gibbie hails from the North West of England and has been working as an illustrator since leaving university in 1996. Children's books is his passion and he has been fortunate enough to have had many published. His first book was published in 1999 by Macmillan entitled "Small Brown Dogs Bad Remembering Day." It was a global success, selling widely across Europe, USA, Asia, and Australia.
He has also had a series of books published for a major supermarket chain, along with a series of educational and scholastic books which were used in the national curriculum. Apart from children's books, Mike has worked in a variety of areas including greeting cards, comics, web design, promotional displays and has also set up a business specializing in children's bedroom murals.
For his illustration work he uses pen and ink and watercolour inks mainly but has also worked in pastels and acrylics. For mural work he freehand draws the designs then finishes with acrylics and emulsion.
